Antartica 21 cruise on Magellan Explorer was great. There wasn’t any issues and the crew was phenomenal and I would travel with Antartica 21 again. The Gear rental company, car service and flights were all great. No issues with the vendors or coordinators. The hotels were pleasant and clean. The Hotel staff was terrific. Swoop representative Otto was great in getting us set up with the trip. After he left the various representatives made keeping track of the trip challenging. Specifically the Itinerary on the Swoop web site. I noticed that I had to verify the information and have it corrected a number of times specifically the Domestic and International Flights Information. The final hotel night in Buenos Aires did not go smoothly. The confirmation number on the Swoop itinerary was incorrect. Saturday afternoon when I arrived at the Argenta Tower Hotel to check in, they did not have a reservation or confirmation number for me. The confirmation number on the literary from Swoop was incorrect and was not accepted by the hotel. After about 45 minutes I was able to reach a Swoop representative by phone that I had trouble understanding due to a language barrier. Fortunately the hotel desk representative spoke in Spanish to the Swoop representative and was able to correct the issue and I was able to check in. Unfortunately I will never use Swoop again or recommend anyone else use Swoop because it was to stressful trying to keep all the travel arrangements updated and correct with the Swoop web site.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Do not use Swoop as your travel agent.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Anartica is a beautiful place and I hope it stays unspoiled.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
I was excited to go, but apprehensive if the travel arrangements would have a hiccup. Thankfully the only hiccup was the very last night at the very last hotel.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
There were too many changes in representatives. When we started to make the arrangements, I felt as if Swoop might be going out of business because reaching a representative was a challenge.
