Tell us about Zodiac excursions
The zodiac cruises were awesome. Depending on the guide you got really made a difference in the experience. Those who told stories about their own experiences were the best.
Tell us about the expedition team
The expedition team was outstanding. Their knowledge and expertise was amazing. I learned so much from all of them.
Were Swoop right to recommend Quark Expeditions?
Yes
Tell us about the Ocean Explorer
The ship was in great shape. Looked like it was new. Very clean.
Something Else?
I was sick through the Drake passage both ways. My cabin attendant, Sabrine was amazing. She checked on me several times a day, got in touch with the doctor when I needed assistance and brought me water, soup and crackers to help me feel better and stay hydrated. She was outstanding.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
I over packed. You don't need as much as you think.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Not really.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Acquiring the proper insurance and coordinating flights was a little awkward. I have used other travel groups who do all that for you and it was allot easier.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Very prepared.
