Tell us about Zodiac excursions
A very efficient operation & lots of opportunities to see Antarctica up close. The appearance of whales next to the zodiac whilst out in the water. A ‘calving’ which was very loud and the subsequent waves did rock our Zodiac a bit, but it felt exciting.
Tell us about the expedition team
Such a pleasant youngish team. So knowledgable and clever and enthusiastic about their role. Excellent lectures. Great presentation skills. A lovely friendly team who appeared to work together very well.
Tell us about the Ultramarine
A very modern and spacious ship. Cabin was very comfortable, well equipped & and there was plenty of room. The only point I would make is the gym is a bit small whilst the sauna is huge. The housekeeping and catering staff were very good and always helpful.
Tell us about the Paddling
I did the sit down paddle board which I thoroughly enjoyed and would do again, I didn’t find it difficult. It is rather expensive!

Tipping-I appreciated that the amount to tip , (although there was a recommended amount) the amount was ultimately left to me to decide.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Need to be relatively fit.

Has increased my interest in this sort of trip in the future.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Very well prepared. A little anxious when I thought about the weather, which was actually excellent. Excitement mounted as I arrived in Ushuaia .
