What was your most memorable moment?
Being in the zodiac with whales coming up right next to the zodiac. Also hearing them trumpet; never heard before.

Very nice ship. The cabins were very spacious, the food was consistently good, and the crew were great.

Very good team. They were knowledgeable, very friendly, and safety was a top concern.
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
We very much enjoyed and felt safe at all times. As mentioned previously, the whale encounters were our favorite.
Were Swoop right to recommend Aurora Expeditions?

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
More aware of environmental issues and importance of krill.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
I wouldn’t take a camera (use phone) or binoculars unless someone is really into them. Gaiters, merino wool, fleece and layers.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Having experienced the fly/fly, I would have booked another night in Punta Arenas on the way back in the event of Antarctica flight delay. Probably not a big issue if you fly coach, but definitely an issue if you fly business class. We should have been notified and contacted by our new coordinator immediately when our other coordinator left Swoop shortly before our departure.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
We were well prepared and fairly excited.
