The first day hiking up the trail. The penguin colony beside the trail. Watching the penguins jump into the water.

Tell us about Zodiac excursions
I felt very safe. I was uneasy at the beginning but once I did it the crew made me feel very safe. Looking at the glaciers and the ice was my favorite part.
Tell us about the expedition team
They were so knowledgeable. I was so impressed with everyone. My two favorites were Ken the glacier guy and Nigel the penguin expert.
Tell us about the World Explorer
More than lived up to our expectations. The cabin was great. The food was tremendous. Several people who had experience with other cruises commented on how this food was better than any they had experienced.
Something Else?
I just want to comment again on how positive every person on the cruise was. Their positive attitude made it enjoyable.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
If you want certainty in travel arrangements, sail the Drake. If uncertainty is ok, then fly. Make sure you bring two weeks of extra medicine. It is not just delays in traveling to Punta Arenas but then time in getting back home.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
We were prepared in terms of the material we needed (clothes etc). The experience itself was beyond our imagination.
