Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Very enjoyable. Very glad we had them to do. Allowed for wildlife viewing to be much closer up. In spite of the fact that we had good weather, by the end of the 2 1/2 hours (I think this was the length) I was cold and ready to go back to the boat.
Tell us about the expedition team
I thought they were great! Rowing across the Atlantic Ocean. The lecture that included the story of the icefall turning green and the lecture that talked about the various kinds icebergs were also among my favorites.
Tell us about the Plancius
The boat exceeded my expectations. We were in the quad as a family of four grown adults and this worked out very well. I would not want to be in the quad with strangers. The quad is not set up that well to serve 4 strangers unless they were extremely cooperative. (The beds are not equal and the storage space does not easy to divide into 4 relatively equally units.) I would rate the food as an 8 out of 10. The desserts all seemed to me to be smooth and/or creamy. I would have liked more texture and chocolate. I would choose this ship again.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Book your airline flights all the way through on a single airline. We had Delta to Buenos Aires and AerolineasArgentinas from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia. We wasted a ton of time during our trip preparation and while on the trip with all of the flight changes made by AerolineasArgentinas--which occurred all the way through our travels.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It made Antarctica come alive. We all know that it is there but we rarely think about it. The lifestyle of the guides is also food for thought as well as the experiences of the passangees.

Full of angst. Significantly detracted from the trip.
