What was your most memorable moment?

This is hard to pick. I've been to Antarctica before, but it was amazing to be back. South Georgia, on the other hand, feels like from a different planet. Seeing King Penguins for the first time cannot be described, and having them walking around us, following us, interacting with us ... I still can't believe to have witnessed this.

Which of the following best describes your adventure?

Life changing

Were Swoop right to recommend Aurora Expeditions?

Yes

Tell us about Zodiac excursions

It always depends which expedition team member is on the zodiac, but this time, we had an amazing E-team, so all Zodiac excursions were amazing. As a photographer, being on the Zodiac with the onboard photographer is always a highlight.

Tell us about the expedition team

Without doubt the best E-Team I have had (they were always great, but this one was just over the top). We had severe weather around us, but the E-Team always found pockets of good weather to allow us to be in Zodiacs or on land. The entire trip was well executed.

Tell us about the Greg Mortimer

An amazing, robust ship with an amazing level of luxury and expedition vibes. The perfect vessel to be on in these regions.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Enjoy it, accept that you're in mother nature's premises: not everything is possible, and the E-Team will do everything they can. If the weather is terrible, embrace it as the early explorers do. Always sunshine is boring anyways.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Not really, as I have been there before, and will go again.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

I'd wish for more interaction between travellers and Swoop (not "just" webinars, but being more personal with the customers). This time, I booked the hotels in Ushuaia myself (as the last time, it took too long through Swoop and then the hotels were sold out, which was a tad frustrating). Always remember, if the service provided is minimal (the price is the same as when ordering through Aurora directly), then people might as well go there.

How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?

As said, I've been there before, and one of my main goals was to show this amazing place to my partner. So I felt well-prepared for Antarctica (because of my previous experience). South Georgia was the new aspect, and one cannot prepare for this.
