The most memorable moment was humpback whales swimming under and around our zodiac, spyhopping us multiple times!!

Tell us about Zodiac excursions
I felt safe at all times on the Zodiac. The drivers did not drive too fast, and they told us when we could stand or when we had to sit. They always warned us when we might have impact with land or a iceberg, or if they were about to do a sharp turn. When boarding and disembarking, we did it in an organized manner of only one person at a time, and every passenger understood the process due to proper training.

The expedition team was very knowledgeable and friendly! Special shout out to Charlotte for going above and beyond to get us an absolutely incredible whale encounter on the last zodiac cruise!!
Were Swoop right to recommend Oceanwide Expeditions?
Yes
Tell us about the Ortelius
The cabin was very nice and the food was spectacular. The experience exceeded my expectations. I would go on Ortelius again especially if Captain Par was still with the ship!
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
When you book with Swoop, they will make sure that everything is taken care of for you, including transfers, emergency resources, and all the information that you need. My advice is to bring some ski goggles for the wind, especially good for use on the zodiacs right on the water. The wind can get pretty cold and you want to have your skin protected from it.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I have a higher fascination for the wildlife in Antarctica, and I want to protect that life.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
You guys need some encouragement!! I am sure you hear about the negative things that happen, but my experience was nothing but positive and you all did great! Thank you, Ben, for being willing to email and talk on the phone multiple times to make sure that I was ready for my trip.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
I was prepared for Antarctica thanks to the resources that I was provided with. I was even more excited for it, and I am thrilled to share that experience on my social media channels with everyone else now that I am home. I will never forget this.
