Yes

Tell us about the wildlife

Would been even better if we can make a stop in King George island to see more variety of penguines and seals.

Tell us about Zodiac excursions

Seeing the floating ice all around us and be quiet in those moments

Tell us about the expedition team

Fantastic. Pipe and George are great expedition leaders, both super competent in their research areas, and very knowledgeable. Michael stood out as the hotel manager. He is very personable and make everyone feels home. And Toni is a firm and capable captain. The team made great efforts for us to have as much fun as can be catered by the ship, for the Christmas and new year celebrations. Love the experience when the hotel team delivered hot chocolate to our zodiac while we were watching a leopard seal!

Great base camp vessel.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

12 days seem to be sufficient, if there can be a couple more stop-over in deception island, and the King George island. Longer than that may get a little boring. Activities are a must for those who would like to experience the land to its fullest potential.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Yes we learned a lot about the animals in Antarctica, the geopolitics, the whaling history and the expedition histories. Very interesting. This makes us more closely connected to Antarctica and appreciate all its beauty and complexity. The animals are just adorable.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

Great info webinar. Just a small thing - I wouldn’t recommend bringing any pee bottle for the camping night though. First of all, the total time on land is only about 7-8. 2nd the team prepared a portable toilet which no one used I think. For international travelers, it took us a lot of luggage space to bring 4 additional bottles which were purchased for the trip, and not used at all. The suggestion of 2 pairs of gloves is great! A thin Marino wool layer is very handy on the zodiac cruise while taking the photos.
