Overall, how was your trip?

The reason for NO in the question above is solely due to financial cost, not for any other reasons. The highlights may include, grand glacier and gigantic iceberg, and countless various lovely animals. It is a truly lifetime experience. I expected to see thousands of penguin and grand glacier, but the gigantic iceberg was a big surprise!

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

It is one of the most wonderful place to visit on earth!

Would you visit again?

No

How was the service that Swoop provided?

In general, I am satisfied the service from Swoop, particularly the consulting info during the booking process. The voyage routing was what we want, and well fit our goal. Your help in choose the right ship and cabin is great. Below are few points that may be improved. After the booking, Swoop adopted a web based email communication system which I do not think it is an efficient tool. Sometime, the response was delayed and we do not whom we expected to respond us. The web page shown an section that should contain out submitted documents. But it was empty thought out entire process. Therefore, we are not sure if our documents have been successfully submitted. There are several employees in Swoop contacted us through the process. We are kind of confused who is in what role. It would be nice to show us an list of your relevant employees in the beginning and identify his/her role at the early stage of the process. In this way, we know who is in charge what and we do not have to keep both one person (such as Loli) all the time. I wish the final document package was delivered to us earlier because there is some information was brand new and it would be nicer to know it with longer time to prepare. Once all the passenger get together in Punta Arena, we realized that almost all other passengers carried much bigger luggage. It would surprise that their luggage were under the weight and size limits. Our group is the only group where every people carried the luggage that under the company's size and particular weight limits. If we know that the airline does not really care about the luggage limits, it would provide us more comfortable travel package.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Our departure from Punta Arena to Kings George was delayed by two days, from original 12/14 to 12/16. Once we got there, there were couple times that we could not have excursions due to sudden whether changes. These kind uncertainty during the entire trip was kind beyond what we expected. I will suggest that the company should provide more realistic introduction on the significant dependence on the local weather condition.I am sure this dependence has been mentioned in the document, but most people still may not have a feeling on what they may have.

Anything else? Tell us anything you’d like to share that we forgot to ask! It’s ok to leave this empty too :-)

The food on the ship were good in general. Our traditional chinese cuisine usually contains a lot vegetable and fruit. At the beginning days, we had lettuce, tomato, and fresh fruits during lunch and dinner. As time passed by, lettuce disappeared, then tomato disappeared, fresh fruits are less and less. Thus, I would like Swoop to advice the ship management to prepare adequate fresh vegetable and fruit for the 17-day trip.
