Tell us about the wildlife
We saw a lot of penguin activity, nest building and mating. We also saw a number of seals and a few jump backed whales. It was early season so we saw what we expected.
Tell us about the expedition team
The expedition team was truly top notch. We chose kayaking and felt that Peter, Russell and Ivan were stellar guides and really made the trip special.
Tell us about the Greg Mortimer
The ship was clearly extremely well designed in every way. The Mud Room was an ideal design for efficiently moving skiers, snow shoers, Zodiacers, and especially kayakers. The X-bow design really lived up to its stability reputation.
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
We only did a few zodiac excursions, but they were managed extremely well and always went to interesting places where we saw lots of great ice and wild life.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Bring good camera gear and take 4K video of things you want to remember. Definitly bring dry bags if you kayak, for protecting your camera gear.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It made me a how important it is to protect Antarctica.
