22nd Nov - 25th Dec 2017

Overall, how was your trip?

Fantastic experience, would recommend to anyone interested in wildlife and the history of the area. Great informal atmosphere with no cocktail parties

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

Everything expected and a bit more. Plus no seasickness!

Would you visit again?

Yes

How was the service that Swoop provided?

Great service and efficient. The buffs were just right. Tried very hard to rearrange travel when there was an airline strike.

How likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend?

10 out of 10

You chose a/an experience. How was that experience?

Wildlife was fantastic especially on South Georgia Great choice for us Suggest some staggering of zodiac boarding Quiet area in the dining room

If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?

Only problem was an airline strike on the day we were due to fly back to Buenos Aries. It took a day or so to arrange new flights and we had an extra 5 days holiday. Good communication with the Swoop team during a very busy day or do.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?

Expedition staff were generally excellent, esp Andrew and Ali Amazing amount of wildlife, 7 penguin species and 4 whale. Walking on an icefloe in the Weddell sea was perfect. Difficult initially to judge how strenuous the shore walks would be, but all were fairly gentle in fact.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Go for as long as you can, it is over too quickly. Maybe we were lucky, but we were never really cold, never had to use all our layers.
